    Good Quality Expensive refills
This is a slightly upscale color printer. I had an old Dell which works well if and only if you use the dell cartridges. This unit is large, twice the size of old Dell, quality a bit better but not that much. The main issue is the refills are almost $500 more than 2X the cost of the printer. Third party refills are costly and often cause printer problems.

    Awesome printer!
I was tired of my inkjet never working when I needed it. I don’t print often. This printer is heavy but it is fast! It printers well on different paper. You can use different sizes of paper. It works every time.

    Excellent Printer
I needed to replace an old Brother printer that was no longer working well. I just needed a simple printer that would produce clean, crisp, black-and-white documents, and quality color documents. This printer does exactly that.I’m baffled by all of the negative reviews. The only chore was getting the printer to set up with my wireless network so I could print from mobile devices. After downloading the drivers from the Cannon website it was possible. You need to restart your laptop to update the drivers after you install it.The printer does emit a noise however, I would not call it loud. It is by no means a distraction or annoying. On photography paper, the color prints look amazing.Quit reading every review on Amazon and just get this printer. You’ll be happy I promise.

Print’s great. Setup not so great. Oh, and very noisy when printing.
This was a replacement for a ten year old Canon printer, which finally showed its age. It was was very quiet. This unit prints just as well, but makes a LOT of noise while printing. I can’t imagine why. Also, the cartridges are a completely new size, so the old ones don’t fit. And then I spent hours trying to activate the wifi, which required entering my password. My password has a few numeric digits in it, but the printer does not accept numbers. I called Canon customer service, but the tech had to put me on hold while he researched the matter. Finally, he came back and told me how to enters digits which required using a hidden, unlabeled and undocumented set of keystrokes. The printer did not come with a user’s manual – but it might not have mentioned it anyway.

    Horrible Printer for home use
Pros: Print Quality is very good.Cons: Connecting to Wireless is insanely bad. The Printer checks for “Genuine Products” meaning you’ll spend 3x for replacements. You can’t connect to your printer wirelessly unless you put in a password, manager pin, and manager ID. Something you will regret if you setup and lose. I forgot my pin and when I called at 10pm EST, Canon support was CLOSED!! Absolutely HORRIBLE printer for the money. Look at the interface at the top of the printer. It looks like an old TI85 calculator! The Letter feeder is at the front and you have to load envelopes one at a time and not just envelopes but any non-standard paper sizes. When you open the toner trays, it litterally tells you that they are “starter cartridges”. Do they all do this? Most do but these are especially “light”Overall: SAD interface, SAD way to force users to use their products. Other than an average print quality for a color laserPrinter (almost all print very well but much better than inkjets IMHO), this should be avoided.

    LOVE this printer!!!
Incredible value for the money! I wanted a laser printer for my everyday home office printing needs so I could get off the crazy expensive inkjet carousel, and this one is perfect.Wifi setup was a breeze and it prints beautifully.

Good price/adequate/works as it should but interface is clunky and unit is LOUD
The printer is fine. Canon isn’t known for ease of use in their printers. The print experience is fine. For a no nonsense business printer if you just print occassionally it’s fine once you get it all set up.HOWEVER, you won’t be able to print if you’re trying to be quiet. This thing is LOUD when it’s running. A lot of clunky mechanical noises. Also the LCD is super low quality – it’s like an 80s calculator. It also took me like 5 tries to get it to connect to my home network. It’s also large and kinda heavy – well larger than other units in it’s category… It won’t be easy to hide or tuck under a desk.So for the price – I think it’s just fine. But I wouldn’t be shouting from the mountain tops about it. It’s “good enough for government” as they say. It’s a solid 3.5 stars..

For a low priced printer, this does extremely well
My first Canon Printer of any kind, also my first Laser printer of any kind. I needed a laser printer for art projects, but I also use it for regular printing too.First, it is sooo fast! Color rendition, 80% ~ which is fine for my needs, It does what I need it to do. I have used it for 6 weeks and still satisfied, and still on the starter toner cartridges. I had difficulty setting it up, I only have an iPad and I bought this because of price, and the mobile connection. I was very frustrated, so I called Canon support. The support agent was superb, he stayed with me for an hour while I slowly set it up, he was knowledgeable about iPads, connections etc. My only cons are the Canon mobile print apps for this . First, the permissions required to give all your data do not sit well with me, so I do not use them, 2nd, the mobile app itself isn’t that great. Otherwise I am very happy with this printer and would recommend it.
